The new edition features a new preface covering the post-pandemic haze we find ourselves in, but with reflections on the history of public health and epidemic disease in San Francisco. I’ve also added a new chapter presenting a baker’s dozen of ecological treks across San Francisco’s lesser known and often overlooked gems, from parks to hilltops to shorelines.
